Mary-Ann Foss
Owner/Coach

Mary-Ann's ambition for fitness sparked at the age 11 when she started competitive dancing. In order to maintain a high level of performance in the competition field for over 13 years, Mary-Ann's health & fitness was one of her main priorities and favorite hobbies. She believes that investing in ones health should be a priority and is driven to help others achieving the same goal. With a background in psychology and social work, it is natural for her to want to help people. Mary-Ann is an empath that wants to make people feel welcomed and included in our growing fitness community. Mary-Ann values the importance of establishing proper technique before progressing further into the movements.
She embraces coaching and is excited to continue learning and specializing in the field of CrossFit.

Matt has had a physically demanding career that has held him accountable for his fitness. Matt has learned to hold himself accountable through the enjoyment of fitness and nutrition. His fitness journey started over 20 years ago where he attended many gyms and tried many different training methods.

Today Matt finds himself taking the approach of functional fitness along with nutrition to create a lifestyle that will keep him healthy for years to come.
​
Matt will continue to learn and develop himself to be able to teach and coach our members.

Alex Schulz
Coach

Alex has been actively involved in CrossFit for over 4 years and he fell In love with the sport/community after he completed his first open in 2019. Alex has coached CrossFit in Ottawa for almost a year and decided to start coaching to give back to the community, the community that he has gotten so much out of. He really enjoys working with athletes that are new the sport.
Alex has competed in local events as well as been apart of demo the team for a masters event. He loves gymnastics movements and olympic lifting; his favourite lift though is the deadlift. Alex is new to the area and is really excited to be part of the OLSC community.

Vicki Jean
Coach

CrossFit Kids Trainer
Vicki's passion started at the young age of 12 when she found the sport of Baton Twirling. She competed in this sport until the age of 21 which provided the opportunity for her to develop as a coach and a judge in this sport. If you’re unfamiliar with baton twirling, think of rhythm gymnastics with extensive and complex baton tricks. Baton twirling and CrossFit have many of the same general physical skills such as flexibility, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
In 2015 she trained and entered her first 1/2 marathon. Running is one of her favourite outside activities to do.
Vicki is excited to teach kids the fundamentals of fitness and assist OLSC’s members in achieving their goals.
Lauren Sweet-Lawrence, B.A., CNH
Health & Nutrition Coach
Lauren has dedicated her career to helping families and individuals discover their potential, and supporting others’ personal growth. Holding a degree in Sociology and another in Family Studies, she has spent her time creating programs, workshops, and individual plans for clients and families. Recently she shifted her focus to nutrition, obtaining a diploma in Holistic Nutrition, and is currently working on obtaining a diploma as a Nutritional Consultant. Valuing health, wellness, and overall well-being, she believes that staying healthy mentally and physically, as it gives us the drive, motivation and skills needed in order to be successful within all areas of our lives. Her goal is to provide individuals with the tools needed to achieve success in their health and wellness goals.
Lauren loves the challenge and excitement that come with testing and surpassing the limits of what she can do. She continues to work on her own fitness goals through CrossFit, running and yoga, and finding new ways to incorporate heathy eating into her daily life.
Josée Albert
Coach
CrossFit Trainer CF-L1
Josée grew up playing many sports including soccer, hockey and softball. She discovered CrossFit after a soccer injury that made her shift her focus to a different sport. Since beginning CrossFit in 2018, she has participated in multiple CrossFit Open competitions and competed in her first CrossFit teams’ competition in the spring of 2023.
Josée is currently a volunteer firefighter with Casselman Fire Department. Being a firefighter can be physically demanding on the body which motivates her to stay active. In 2023, she competed in her first FireFit competition in Montreal.
Josée has experience coaching sports, and teaching in a student environment. She is looking forward to passing on her experience and love of the sport to members at OLSC.
Mark Hargreaves
Coach
CrossFit Trainer CF-L1
Mark’s journey through sports and fitness began at age 5 hockey, igniting a lifelong passion for fitness. With a background in competitive hockey, lacrosse and mountain biking, Mark’s love for pushing boundaries and achieving excellence has always defined his approach to fitness.
In 2017 facing the physical demands of a new career, Mark discovered CrossFit as the perfect avenue to sustain his wellbeing and was drawn to the challenge for body and mind. He found a new home at OLSC in 2023, drawn in by the supportive community and coaching.
Beyond the gym, Mark extends his commitment to the community as a volunteer firefighter with the Casselman Fire Department which is another source of motivation to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Eager to share his passion and experience, Mark looks forward to evolving as a coach to inspire others to lead an active life while guiding members to surpass their goals while expanding his own knowledge and skills.
